Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Veridian Legal P.C. (“Veridian Legal,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit www.veridianlegal.com (the “Site”) or contact us through it. It does not cover information we receive while representing clients. That information is governed by our engagement agreement and our professional duties of confidentiality.
Contacting us through the Site, by email or by phone does not create an attorney-client relationship. A relationship begins only when we agree in writing to represent you.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a contact form, email us or call us, we collect what you choose to share. This is usually your name, email address, phone number, how you heard about us, and a description of your situation.
Please do not send intimate images, account passwords or other highly sensitive material through the Site’s forms. If evidence is needed, we will arrange a secure way to receive it after we speak with you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and analytics tools collect standard technical data. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can help;
check for conflicts of interest before discussing your matter;
operate, secure and improve the Site, including blocking spam;
understand which pages and sources bring visitors to the Site;
comply with our legal and professional obligations.
We treat information from people who contact us about possible representation as confidential, consistent with New York Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18.
Cookies and Analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies:
Essential cookies from Squarespace, our website host, keep the Site working and secure.
Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us understand how visitors use the Site. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Google reCAPTCHA on our forms helps tell people from spam bots. Its use is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:
with service providers that help us run the Site and our practice, such as Squarespace (hosting and forms) and Google (analytics and spam protection), who may use it only to provide those services;
when required by law, court order or professional rules, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety;
with your permission, or as part of representing you once you become a client.
Retention, Security and Other Sites
Retention. We keep inquiry information as long as needed to respond, check conflicts and meet our legal and professional record-keeping duties, then delete or securely store it.
Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, consistent with New York’s SHIELD Act. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send highly sensitive material through the Site’s forms.
Children. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. If your child needs help, a parent or guardian should contact us.
Links to other sites. The Site links to social media and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own.
Your Choices and Contact Information
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you have given us through the Site. We will honor these requests unless we must keep the information for legal, ethical or conflict-checking reasons. If the law of your state gives you additional privacy rights, contact us and we will respond as that law requires.
